How we calculate this
Each chargeback costs your order value plus ~$25 in fees, plus $8 in Visa fines above the 1.5% line. Alerts catch ~89% of disputes; a caught dispute costs the refund plus an ~$18 alert fee (blended $15 RDR/CDRN, $29 Ethoca) and never touches your ratio. Refunded revenue is counted in both columns; we don't hide it. Visa's excessive tier starts at 1.5%, where fines are $8 per dispute. Acquirers act earlier, usually at 0.3% to 0.5%.
